RightBrain Video Training (Improving Skills)

Chris Johns of Insight Productions LLC has developed two Iphone Apps using the same research of RightBrain Video Training. He has one for golf (RightBrain Golf Pro) and one for tennis (RightBrain Tennis Pro). These Apps are designed to help any athlete improve mechanical skills.

General

Each of these Apps contains effective video training programs that engage the right hemisphere of your brain, synchronizing your muscle movements and nerve responses to create the rhythm and timing necessary for accurate and consistent golf or tennis strokes.

Most traditional golf and tennis training relies exclusively on the left brain to process the many parts of each stroke. For golf, it is the correct address, arm and wrist positioning, shoulder and hip rotation, weight distribution, balance, swing path, etc. For tennis, it is the correct foot, leg, hip, shoulder, arm, and wrist positioning and movements. Players are taught all the individual parts and given numerous tips to help them remember each correct movement. The problem is that there is often too much information for the left brain to process. When this happens you begin to “over think” the technique and often lose sight of how all the parts work together.

RightBrain Sports Training quiets your left brain and helps you visualize the complete techniques and/or form for all your strokes. Watch the high performance and pure strokes demonstrated by former PGA and Nike Tour player Jeff Coston or All American Tennis pro Eric Drew. While watching, listen to the focusing cues developed by myself. You’ll soon start noticing improved mechanical skills in most all areas of execution.

Combine RightBrain Video Training with traditional professional instruction and regular practice, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised with your accelerated learning, much improved form and increased level of confidence.

The Science behind RightBrain Video Training

            1. Recent research has discovered that when you watch someone demonstrate a mechanically correct skill, “mirror neurons” are activated in the brain enabling you to increase your skill level by supplying you with the mental image of that skill.

            2. Moreover, when you watch a video of a model athlete performing repetitions of mechanically correct skills your own skills can improve. The same neural pathways that are stimulated by practice and repetitions of a skill are similarly activated and reinforced by      watching the video.

            3. Correct repetitions of a sport skill build “muscle memory”. During this training the right brain synchronizes all muscle movements and nerve responses to perform the skill.

Benefits of the Video Training

            1. Accelerates your learning of individual sport techniques.

            2. Improves your concentration and focusing skills.

            3. Helps prevent “over thinking” and frees your body to perform at your highest skill level.

            4. Improves your visualization skills.

            5. Keeps your skills sharp between competitions.

            6. Allows you to perform mental sports training at your convenience.
