BEING CENTERED IN LIFE AND SPORTS

My name is Banks Hudson and I welcome you to my website. Let me begin by telling you a little about myself.

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and also specialize in the generalized anxiety disorders to include panic disorder, acute stress disorder, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and posttraumatic stress disorder. I graduated from the US Military Academy at West Point, completed Airborne and Ranger Training, and later completed 2 masters’ degrees in theology and a year of clinical training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. I have about 35 years experience in the field of psychotherapy.

I have for years been interested and fascinated by the role the brain and mind plays in the execution of athletic skills in competitive situations. Almost everyone will admit that the mental is the key to sports performance. Over the past 20 years, I have been researching and developing different skills and techniques that can be used to maximize the power of the mind to improve confidence and consistency. I have spent the most time and energy on a system that utilizes videos for training rather than the traditional use of videos for instruction. This unique training is for both highly skilled athletes and those athletes who are continuing to work on improving their skills. I have worked with a number of amateur and professional athletes and coaches during this period of time.

I have put a lot of information on this website. Some of you may be interested in my view of psychotherapy and others may be interested in the work I have done in mental training for athletes, teams, and coaches. To find out more about my work or to set up an appointment, go to “Contact” for information on how to reach me and I will promptly respond to your inquiry.
